UPSC Civil Service Preliminary Examination

The Union Public Service Commission released the admit card for the civil service preliminary examination. You can get the admit card by visiting the official website. To get the admit card the students should provide their login details in the website so they can able to download the admit card. They are permitted to download the admit card from April28 2013 to 26May 2013.

The preliminary exam has been scheduled from 26^th May 2013.  The exam consists of two general studies papers of 200 marks each. In 2010 UPSC introduced the CSAT paper. The test is conducted to select the suitable candidates to appear for main exams. In 2011 the first batch appeared for the examination. The syllabus for the general studies paper is provided here.

SYLLABUS FOR GENERAL STUDIES PAPER-I

1.      Current events(National and International)

2.      Indian National Movement and History of India

3.      Indian geography and world geography

4.      Indian politics and Government

5.      Economic developments and social developments

6.      Issues on bio-diversity, environmental ecology and climate change.

7.      General Science

SYLLABUS FOR GENERAL STUDIES PAPER-II

1.      Comprehension.

2.      Interpersonal skills

3.      Analytical ability and logical reasoning

4.      Problem solving skill and decision making skill

5.      General ability of mind.

6.      Numerical aptitude

7.      Comprehension skills (class X level) and English language skill.
